The Penguin Classics edition of Russian Émigré Short Stories from Bunin to Yanovsky has been shortlisted for the 2018 Read Russia Prize.

The 2017 Nobel Prize in Literature has been awarded by the Swedish Academy to the English author Kazuo Ishiguro “who, in novels of great emotional force, has uncovered the abyss beneath our illusory sense of connection with the world.”

Jhumpa Lahiri has won the PEN/Malamud Award for Excellence in the Short Story. She will receive the $5,000 award and give a reading December 8 at the Folger Shakespeare Library.

The 2017 Pulitzer Prize winners were announced on Monday and four Penguin Random House titles received the distinguished medal honoring excellence in Arts and Letters.

Imbolo Mbue has been awarded the 2017 PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction for her debut novel, Behold the Dreamers.
