William H. McNeil, the National Book Award winning historian and professor, who expanded the view of world history, passed away on Friday. He was 98 years old.

Elie Wiesel, a survivor at Auschwitz and educator to millions about the horrors of Nazi concentration camps, died at the age of 87.

Leading historian of modern Germany, Fritz Stern, died on Wednesday. He was 90 years old.

Writer Pat Conroy passed away on March 4, 2016, at the age of 70 at his home in Beaufort, South Carolina.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Carl E. Schorske, who died on Sunday, September 13, in East Windsor, New Jersey. He was 100.  Schorske was an American cultural historian and professor emeritus at Princeton University.

Dr. Oliver Sacks died early Sunday morning at his home in New York City. He was 82.
