ENGLISH DESCRIPTION

An account of Rimsky’s trip to the Nicaraguan revolution in the eighties, when she was barely twenty years old.

Reflectively written from the present, the short but forceful text of this book is interspersed with the diaries (and photos) that Cynthia Rimsky made during her journey. It was a belated and disappointing trip to the Revolution. Back then the author already knew how to account for her bewilderment and critical distance from what she saw and heard, but later, when going back to those texts and commenting on them decades later, what we have is pure lucidity, black humor,a sharp critical gaze; an intelligence and complete understanding of the human experience, all manifested through a unique narrative sagacity. A vibrant text, the gaze of an incomparable Chilean and a remote and turbulent reality: the Nicaraguan.
