SELINA HASTINGS is the author of Nancy Mitford, Evelyn Waugh, Rosamond Lehmann, and The Secret Lives of Somerset Maugham. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, and has been a judge for a number of literary awards, including the Booker and the Whitbread. She lives in London.
