Stuff You Should Know But I Can’t Tell You
Introduction

Guys, I’m going to let you in on a little secret. Our learning doesn’t stop when our formal school education ends. After all, life’s a journey, not a destination. And that journey is going to present every man with a variety of situations. Some you’ll be prepared for, and some you won’t. But each instance will broaden your experiences, expand your mind, and shape your character.
So prepare yourself for a lifetime of learning—a lifetime of making yourself a better man. Some of this you will pick up naturally along the way. Some of it will require an investment of time and resources. And some of it you’ll find right here in this book.
As I set out to revise this book (originally published in 2009), I brought with me a new set of life experiences and lessons I’ve learned in my own journey. This revision still includes the timeless, traditional skills you might expect. But it’s also peppered with more timely advice for today’s man. Some of the entries are essential information, while others are just for fun—because, after all, we should enjoy the ride.
I acknowledge that my journey isn’t the same as every man’s. So in addition to drawing on my first-hand knowledge, I have researched these topics and incorporated expert advice to create a book for all types of men.
As you navigate this book, and your life in general, my hope is that you will open your mind to new ideas, open your heart to all different types of people, and open yourself to new experiences. Because, in doing that, you will truly make yourself a better man.
Now sit back, relax, and pay attention. This stuff is important.
