Create long-lasting, healthy intimacy with this relationship book for couples offering simple practices for fostering open communication, managing difficult emotions—and bringing your loved one closer.

What does healthy intimacy look like? How we do we keep the energy and passion alive in long-term relationships? What practices can help us forgive our partner when he or she has hurt us? How can we get a new relationship off to a strong and stable start? What do we do if we feel restless in a relationship or attracted to someone outside of our partner?

These are just some of the questions Zen master and Nobel Peace Prize nominee Thich Nhat Hanh has been asked by practitioners and readers alike. Deeply moved by the suffering caused by these issues, he offers concrete guidance in his first ever writings on intimacy and healthy sexuality.

Fidelity guides you to an understanding of how to maintain your relationships—and keep them fresh—while accepting and loving your partner for who they are. You will learn how to:

• Stay attentive and nourishing of each other amid the pressures of daily life
• Foster open communication
• Deal with anger and other strong emotions
• Practice forgiveness, gratitude, and appreciation
• Further develop a spiritual dimension in your relationship
• Rebuild love and understanding after infidelity or hurt

In addition to addressing everyday challenges, Thich Nhat Hanh shows how traditional Buddhist teachings on attachment, deep listening, and loving speech can help energize and restore our relationships. Written in a clear and accessible style, and filled with personal stories, simple practices and exercises, Fidelity is a relationship book for couples looking to foster stronger, healthier intimacy.
Thich Nhat Hanh was a world-renowned spiritual teacher and peace activist. Born in Vietnam in 1926, he became a Zen Buddhist monk at the age of sixteen. Over seven decades of teaching, he published more than 100 books, which have sold more than four million copies in the United States alone. Exiled from Vietnam in 1966 for promoting peace, his teachings on Buddhism as a path to social and political transformation are responsible for bringing the mindfulness movement to Western culture. He established the international Plum Village Community of Engaged Buddhism in France, now the largest Buddhist monastery in Europe and the heart of a growing community of mindfulness practice centers around the world. He passed away in 2022 at the age of 95 at his root temple, Tu Hieu, in Hue, Vietnam.
"In this brief but uplifting book, the author reflects upon some of the essentials that comprise a loving relationship that not only lasts but flourishes. "
