Ian Fleming (1908–1964) is the world-famous novelist and creator of James Bond. He began his writing career as a Reuters journalist in the early 1930s. In 1939, he was selected to become a lieutenant in the Special Branch of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve, a rank he would eventually bestow upon his iconic James Bond character. Jim Lawrence began his writing career scripting training films for the US Armed Forces, and moved on to write features including Buck Rogers and Joe Palooka. He has written more 007 stories than any other Bond author. Yaroslav Horak is an illustrator and comics artist best known for his work on the James Bond newspaper comic strip. Some of his other work as a comic strip illustrator includes Rick Davis, The Skyman, Ray Thorpe, Ripon: The Man from Outer Space, Brenda Starr, The Mask: The Man of Many Faces, Captain Fortune, and Mike Steele: Desert Rider.
