Ian Fleming (1908–1964) is the world-famous novelist and creator of James Bond. He began his writing career as a Reuters journalist in the early 1930s. In 1939, he was selected to become a lieutenant in the Special Branch of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve, a rank he would eventually bestow upon his iconic James Bond character. He has written more 007 stories than any other Bond author.
