This newly reissued classic is a brilliantly witty and whimsical novella about New York poet Lucinella and her adventures among the litterati at a Yaddo-like writers' residency. Along the way she finds herself facing some tough questions: Will a different husband, or the right publisher, or the perfect filing system put life in order? Will a daily dose of Brewer's Yeast bring on a new golden age, or at least a moment of rest between the euphoria and the panic? Lucinella, her husband, lovers and friends busily go to parties and watch one anothers lives closely for signs of happiness, love and despair.
