KATHY WEIDNER ZOEHFELD (Rocks and Minerals) is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, MA, and University of Michigan Ann Arbor where she decided to put her science degrees to work by writing nonfiction books for kids. Since then she has written more than 60 natural science and history books for young readers, and been awarded honors by the NSTA/CBC, NCSS/CBC, the AAAS, the ALA, and the IRA/CBC Children's Choice. 

ANNE SCHREIBER (Volcanoes) is a graduate in Science Education from Cornell University and began her career as an elementary school teacher. She wrote the science content for the Magic School Bus television series and more than a dozen books for young children. 

KRISTIN BAIRD RATTINI (Weather) has explored subjects ranging from Star Wars to Stonehenge to amazing animal pals. She is a fequent contributor to National Geographic Kids magazine.
