Award-winning travel writer Freda Moon is a California-based travel editor for SFGATE. She has written for the New York Times, National Geographic Traveler, Afar, and Sunset magazine, among others, and is the co-author of Cabin Porn: Inside. Her work has appeared in The Best American Travel Writing anthology and won the Society of American Travel Writers’ Lowell Thomas Travel Journalist Award. Moon and her family live in a vintage trawler in the San Francisco Bay. However, she loves to visit her favorite U.S. beach destination, Rehoboth Beach in Delaware, whenever she can.

Award-winning journalist Ashley Harrell writes about the sea, wildlife, travel, and passionate people. She learned to tell stories as an alt-weekly staff writer and coached writing at Stanford University; later she absconded to Costa Rica where she edited a newspaper features section and an inflight travel magazine. She has reported from 15 countries and co-authored 47 guidebooks. When not on assignment you can find her jumping on trampolines, scuba diving, and taking photos of wildlife, her dog included.
