The Punisher story to end all Punisher stories!

Born of tragedy. Devoted to war. Unstoppable in his rage. Frank Castle has become the most accomplished killer the world has ever seen. Now it’s time for him to confront the secrets lurking in his past and face his destiny. What shocking event convinces Frank to take the reins of the deadly ninja clan known as the Hand? And will it mean an end for the Punisher — or a whole new bloody beginning? Is he truly the Fist of the Beast, the predestined High Slayer of the Hand? Or is he nothing more than a prisoner of the ninjas’ twisted lies? The all-powerful Ares is coming for Frank with an army of heavily armed Apostles at his back, looking to turn him back into his old self — by murdering his family all over again! But even if the Punisher somehow survives the god of war, other forces are gathering to bring him down once and for all. Tainted by demonic evil, can he withstand the onslaught of Daredevil, Doctor Strange and the whole Marvel Universe? Or will Frank Castle be Punisher…no more? Join the superstar team of writer Jason Aaron and artists Jesús Saiz and Paul Azaceta for an epic exploration of the dark and violent past and inevitable future of one of Marvel’s most iconic characters.

COLLECTING: Punisher (2022) #1-12
Writer Jason Aaron saw his early collaboration with artist Cameron Stewart on DC/Vertigo’s The Other Side named one of the Washington Post’s Best Comics of 2007. His next project, Scalped, garnered industry-wide praise and led to a guest spot on Wolverine, beginning Aaron’s long association with Logan on various titles, as well as the rest of Marvel’s merry mutants on books including X-Men: Schism, Wolverine & the X-Men and Amazing X-Men. Aaron rocked the Marvel Universe with Original Sin and unfolded a status-quo-shattering Asgardian epic across multiple Thor titles. He was the ideal choice to steer the Rebel crew of Star Wars into new adventures on the series’ return to Marvel, and he ushered in a new era for the publisher with Marvel Legacy. In the wake of that one-shot, he took on Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in a sprawling, multiversal run on Avengers; welcomed another iconic property back to the House of Ideas with Conan the Barbarian; and put Frank Castle in charge of the Hand in a shocking relaunch of Punisher.

Jesús Saiz made his name with Spanish readers with the fanzine 451º, and then the Azoth miniseries. His first American work, “Iron Reich 3000,” was published in Dark Horse Presents, and he followed it with a story for Star Wars Tales. His work for DC Comics includes Birds of Prey, Swamp Thing and an Eisner Award-nominated collaboration with J. Michael Straczynski on The Brave & the Bold. Saiz moved to Marvel to illustrate Captain America: Steve Rogers, which he followed with such titles as Doctor Strange, Star Wars and Punisher.

Able to blend classic layouts with a modern touch, Paul Azaceta’s first work for the House of Ideas was Peter David’s Captain Marvel. After a long absence, his return has included the miniseries Foolkiller and Punisher Noir. Other industry work includes Talent, Grounded and B.P.R.D.
