When Nick Fury discovers a disturbing connection between many of Marvel's deadliest villains, he assembles a ragtag team of the MU's most misunderstood heroes for a secret mission to do what the U.S. government could never allow — eventually leading to a super-powered blowout between a who's who of costumed crimefighters! We’re talking Captain America, Daredevil, Spider-Man, Black Widow, Wolverine and more! But as they come under attack by groups of high-tech villains, what is Nick Fury's secret — and will the heroes find out in time? In the aftermath, Luke Cage is missing, and Jessica Jones will do whatever she can to find him. But who are the mystery men following her? And will her life ever recover from the drama of Secret War?

Award-winning comic-book creator Brian Michael Bendis is one of the most successful writers in the industry today. In addition to an acclaimed run on Daredevil, he has helmed a renaissance for Marvel’s popular Avengers franchise and written the event projects House of M, Secret War, Secret Invasion, Siege, Age of Ultron and Civil War II. Bendis wrote every issue of Ultimate Spider-Man from its launch in 2000 before bringing his multiracial Spider-Man, Miles Morales, to the Marvel Universe for continuing adventures. He took on Marvel’s mutants in the pages of All-New X-Men and Uncanny X-Men, and launched Guardians of the Galaxy into the stratosphere. Bendis shook up the life of Tony Stark in Invincible Iron Man and related titles, introducing Riri Williams as Ironheart, and then assembled street-level heroes Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Daredevil and his co-creation Jessica Jones in Defenders. His creator-owned projects include Scarlet with Alex Maleev, Brilliant with Mark Bagley, and Takio and the Eisner Award-winning Powers with Michael Avon Oeming.

Hailed as “an instant legend” by writer Brian Michael Bendis, Italian artist Gabriele Dell’Otto established his reputation in the European comic-book industry with a series of painted covers for Panini. Dell’Otto’s stunning work caught Marvel’s attention, leading to a career-making assignment on the blockbuster Secret War. Propelled by Dell’Otto’s stunning, fully painted work, the series became an instant sell-out in comic shops from coast to coast and earned the artist Wizard magazine’s prestigious Breakout Talent of the Year award in 2004. Dell’Otto has since drawn many covers for Marvel, including all of Marvel’s cosmic miniseries Annihilation. He was also the artist of the X-Force: Sex and Violence miniseries.
