Superstar Marvel writer Gerry Duggan takes on the X-Men, at the height of the Krakoan Era!

Things might be complicated between the new mutant nation and the rest of the world, but it’s simple to the X-Men: You do what’s right, you protect those who need protecting and you save the world we all share. Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Sunfire, Rogue, Wolverine, Synch and Polaris are the chosen champions of mutantkind, and they will not shrink from any battle. From the obsessed High Evolutionary to the bizarre Cordyceps Jones, from Orchis’ Dr. Stasis to the horrifying Headless Horseman, the X-Men will face them head on! But who is the new mutant hero called Captain Krakoa? And who will be elected to the team in the Hellfire Galas? The X-Men clash with the Eternals, the Children of the Vault, M.O.D.O.K. and more — while things get cosmic as the X-Men go planet-size! But when Orchis strikes, who will be left to halt the Fall of X?

COLLECTING: X-Men (2021) 1-34, X-Men Annual (2022) 1, Planet-Size X-Men (2021) 1, X-Men: Hellfire Gala (2022) 1, X-Men: Hellfire Gala (2023) 1, X-Men Unlimited: X-Men Green (2022) 1-2
Gerry Duggan has become one of Marvel’s most influential writers, having first made an impression at the House of Ideas with a lengthy and always surprising Deadpool run alongside his frequent writing partner, Brian Posehn. Among Duggan’s solo credits are Nova, Hulk and multiple tie-ins to the Secret Wars event. He added Deadpool to the revamped roster of Uncanny Avengers and brought his unique blend of action and humor to All-New Guardians of the Galaxy, leading up to the cosmic event series Infinity Wars. Marauders and Cable established him as a vital part of the storytelling team for the Dawn of X era, a role he has cemented further by launching the blockbuster new X-Men title. Duggan’s earlier collaboration with artist Phil Noto — The Infinite Horizon, a reimagining of Homer’s The Odyssey in a dystopian future — earned an Eisner Award nomination for Best New Series.

Artist Pepe Larraz penciled Spider-Island: The Amazing Spider-Girl and pitted ’90s rivals against each other in Deadpool vs. X-Force. Larraz worked on titles including Wolverine & the X-Men, Uncanny Avengers, Avengers and the Star Wars: Kanan before proving himself among the industry’s finest talents with House of X. His thrilling artwork made him the ideal illustrator for the blockbuster 2021 relaunch of X-Men with writer Gerry Duggan.

Javier Piña is quickly building an impressive resumé at Marvel with credits including Captain America: Steve Rogers, Maestro: War and Pax, Doctor Strange and Star. His collaboration with Gerry Duggan on the flagship X-Men title is his highest-profile work to date.

Marvel Stormbreaker C.F. Villa is a fast-rising star thanks to his work on Black Cat. He entered the Krakoan era of mutantkind with work on the flagship title X-Men and 2022’s X-Men: Hellfire Gala.
