Daphne Rubin-Vega is an award-winning Panamanian-American actress, dancer, and singer-songwriter. She originated the role of Mimi Marquez in Rent, and has been nominated twice each for the Tony Award and the Drama Desk Award. As a narrator, she has read books by Julia Alvarez and Alisa Valdes-Rodriguez.
