Robert O. Ballou

Robert O. Ballou brought to countless contemporary readers much of the world's religious thought, which he selected, interpreted, and arranged in view of modern man's quest for ultimate truths and values. Among the volumes he edited were This He Believed: The Religion of Jesus of Nazareth as Revealed from the Old and New Testaments and Other Sources; The Living Bible, the King James version in an edition that emphasized the spirit of the text; and The Bible of the World, upon which The Portable Bible of the World was based. Ballou was also the author of several volumes of his own, including Shinto: The Unconquered Enemy and This I Believe: A Letter to My Son.
