Elaine Steinbeck

Elaine Steinbeck (1914-2003) had a great and long-lasting impact on the arts. As one of the first women to act as a Broadway stage manager, she managed Oklahoma! in 1940. She then met and married John Steinbeck in 1950. After his death, she acted as executor of his estate and also served on the board of the Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor.
