Embark on an epic journey with X-O MANOWAR, where ancient history collides with futuristic technology.

Dive into the saga of Aric of Dacia, a Visigoth warrior abducted by aliens, who later returns to Earth with the Shanhara armor, the most powerful weapon in the universe. But while a few years have passed for him, centuries have gone by on Earth, and Aric finds the modern world as alien as the spaceship where he was once held prisoner. This masterful blend of loyalty, courage, and destiny, offers a perfect starting point for new readers!

Contains the first appearance of X-O Manowar, Ninjak, the Vine, and many other Valiant Universe characters! See where it all began with New York Times best-selling writer Robert Venditti (Green Lantern,The Surrogates) and comics visionaries Cary Nord (Conan), Lee Garbett (Batman: RIP), and Trevor Hairsine (X-Men: Deadly Genesis).
New York Times bestselling author Robert Venditti broke into comics the old-fashioned way—by starting out in the mailroom. He began working for publisher Top Shelf Productions in 2002, and within a few months sold them the script for The Surrogates, his first comic book series. The story was later adapted into a feature film starring Bruce Willis and Ving Rhames. Venditti went on to write the original graphic novel The Homeland Directive, as well as the graphic novel adaptations of Rick Riordan's best-selling Percy Jackson and the Olympians novels. In 2012, he helped relaunch Valiant Entertainment’s comic book universe by writing their flagship title, X-O Manowar.
